Here comes the judge! Are you guilty of being of fan of legal thrillers? Do you enjoy reading stories set in small Virginia Towns? Please rise for the occasion of our Spring 2009 Weekend with a Writer featuring Martin Clark!
As a circuit court judge in Virginia, Martin Clark has a front row seat to people at their most vulnerable, most honorable, most despicable, and most confounding. Martin’s personal perspective coupled with his wild imagination and genius wit have earned him comparisons to Nick Hornby, Elmore Leonard, and Thomas McGuane and prompted the Denver Post to call him, “Part John Grisham, part Hunter S. Thomson and part sheer grit.” His first two novels, The Many Aspect of Mobile Home Living and Plain Heathen Mischief, earned a host of praise from both critics and fellow writers. David Baldacci has called Martin, “a truly original writer that defies the reader not to rip through every page with sheer delight.”

In THE LEGAL LIMIT set in Stuart, VA, Martin Clark has accomplished the remarkable feat of giving readers a fast-paced, page-turning story—of two brothers who face the consequences of a secret they’d buried in the past—that not only entertains but also puts the reader into the position of having to make a choice as to what is fair and how the legal system should react to this particular set of problems. And, as Martin says, “I think people will be of different minds as to what ‘the right ruling’ should be.”
Our weekend commences on Friday at 6:00 with dinner at Lowery’s where Mr. Clark will talk about his new book. Copies of his books will be available for sale and for autographs.
